Pipi focuses on re-using thrifted towels to create a versatile toiletry bag suitable for any occasion, most commonly at the beach. 

The intent was to design, create and market a product that was sustainable and didn’t add to landfill, but rather re-imagine an existing product using recycled or thrifted materials. 

This project encouraged me to explore the use of social media to promote a product. As well as, to be resourceful and look at what goes into making a product outside of just the branding, marketing and design aspects.

  • Going to the beach should be a relaxing and organised experience, not one that bombards you with an overcrowded bag. This product was made with over-packers in mind.

  • Using thrifted or recycled materials, create a product that solves a common real-world issue. Then, create a photo library, social media page and packaging to market your product.

  • As a chronic over-packer as well, I thought that a pouch designed to fit all of your beach going essentials was the perfect product to make. Additionally, by using thrifted towels, this pouch isn't afraid of a little bit of sand. Pipi pouches are a beach day essential and I would know, I used mine just the other day!
